Appearance

Appearance

The composition of the various building elements within the overall design is critical to the coherence of the street scene and the achievement of the required quality of design within the proposed development.

The dwellings will use a unifying palette of materials, but variations in form, size and style will create a distinctive character area on the edge of Lower Beeding. The proposals will integrate with and compliment the character of the surrounding areas, using established materials, details and features which are reflective of West Sussex rural vernacular.

Materials

Key materials will be red multi stock brickwork, with brick details such as banding, window headers and cills. The roofs will be either red/ brown or grey coloured roof tiles. Secondary materials (occasional use only) will be black horizontal boarding, white horizontal boarding and tile hanging.
